Items exhibited here are from more recent times in the last century and may be familiar even to some of our younger visitors.
The ringer-washer from 1951, the vacuum tube radios, and the hand-cranked gramophone with its old vinyl records, produce a sense of nostalgia and remind us of our childhood long past.
Some visitors have a strong personal attachment to the items in this room. Many visitors put coins in the Cassa di Risparmio boxes, and many remember doing their schoolwork with fountain pens and ink wells. For many of us, the toys displayed here evoke strong memories of early childhood.
Our grandmothers used these curling irons to improve their appearance, while our grandfathers use these curious tools to groom their flamboyant moustaches.
Old play bills and posters remind us that Cuggiono once had a successful theater, and certificates awarded to Cuggiono citizens testify to an active interest in the arts.
The Museum’s collection of old Italian Reign and Italian Republic stamps is of inestimable value.
This display case includes many documents dated from as early as the 1700’s related to the establishment and history of Mutual Aid Associations which established the first assistance and solidarity programs in Cuggiono.
