This room is comprised of the stairway and the upstairs hallway leading to the first floor rooms. On the ground level we can examine a device that resembles a large wheelbarrow. In fact, it is called a “slaifera” and it holds the heavy stone wheel of the blade sharpener who pushed his cart from village to village offering his services.
On the landing at the top of the stairs, there is a beautiful enlargement of an old photograph from the late 1800's picturing the “Gamba de legn” steam tram in Piazza San Giorgio.
Hanging from the ceiling is a model airplane built in the 1920's, while on the steps to the mezzanine floor there is a model of the Gamba de legn which is powered by electricity. Models of other forms of horse drawn public transportation are also on display. On the walls of the stairs and hallway are numerous old photographs of Cuggiono. Views of village life, historic events, and pastoral scenes are all on display.
